Rui Tanimura is a graduate nutrition student who joined Van Dusen Nutrition® in 2020 in an intern role. Through her years of sport, Rui noticed the prevalence of disordered eating, poor body image, and compulsive exercise within athletes of all sizes and genders. Rui is currently completing a Yoga Teacher Certification to support her mission of optimizing mental and physical well-being by creating gratitude for and peace within one’s body.
Rui will graduate from Simmons University in May 2020 with a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion. Rui recently completed her dietetic internship in 2019 concentrated in the Treatment of Eating Disorders at Simmons University. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Pittsburgh. Rui’s long-term goal is to become a multi-lingual Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian (CEDRD) while raising awareness of eating disorders across a variety of ethnic backgrounds and cultures.
Rui is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and volunteers at Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association.
